Ok I can't remember which catty it was that supposedly eats black brush algae. Is it the Siamese algae eater or flying fox or something else. I'm getting a bit sick of dosing my tank now and don't have as much time for maintanence other than WCs. Also does anyone know where I can get some? There's no breeding Plecs in the tank anymore so I don't mind giving some a go if they are worth trying. Can anyone recommend them or perhaps something else?

siamese algae eater is the winner there, also known as the flying fox, they are one of the few that eat it

Siamese. Otoclinus are not particularly interested in it.

Flying fox mate!

I had a 4x2 dedicated to growing Anubias about 10 years ago. Few rams, rainbows and Angels in there as well from memory. But those flying fox catfish would smashing that dirty black algae off the Anubias.
