am looking into making something at work ...

Sorry I got excited about the design :) yeah go for it, I see absolutely no problems with the setup, the bonus is you can grow whatever you like in there :)

Make something with the grow beds off to the side.
That would be a PITA when you needed to scoop fish out or do any tank maintenance

They just called me to tell me that the three sizes of the aquaculture tubs are $300 off :)

Yeah they aren't cheap but a great idea!! I like the 1000lt unit.. That's around $2200..

why dont you just get some plastic trays that sit on top of your existig tank and do the same thing ??? save ya a crap load of $$$$$$$$$$$ :)

I wasn't interested in the plant growing I want something big with a viewing window was Ian this one for an idea and knew they would be expensive lol<br /><br /><br /> PowPow

polly is very strong and high uv graded the stuff the one i want is made out of

Definitely!! I've seen plenty of systems like that! Even an outdoor pond with a full 5ft viewing panel! Acrylic is the go, something thick but that's when it gets pricey.. You could even try an ibc and put some smaller viewing windows in a couple of sides, I have plenty of 10mm acrylic sheets here if anyone wants to give it a go :)

I put viewing port holes I our big 30-50t tanks when breeding cod. The had a diameter of about 45cm, with a total diameter of 60cm. The trick was to make them round so there was no corner pressure. They were held in place with silicone only and about a meter under the water surface.
