That's a shocker, no way those fish grew that size under those conditions.

I am fairly new to the aquarium hobby so please excuse my ignorance. I started in late Nov last year when I got some cichlids off a nice man who was giving some of his small cichlids (around 4-6cm at the time) away for free. He had lots in his tank and I noticed he had another breeding tank easily with more than 50 in it. At the time, he told me to keep them in temperature of 26 degrees. And I remembered panicking on the way home as the tank I have been preparing for 2-3 weeks had no heater and no thermometer in it! I had only kept goldfish up to that point, Thankfully I found a digital kitchen thermometer and much to my surprise the water temperature was literally around 26 degrees. In fact, if anything, I have been battling to keep the temperature below 28 degrees during the summer months, and I only put a heater in around March or even April this year when the temperature started to cool down. Before someone tries to shoot me down for not having a heater etc, I did check the water temperature very regularly especially in the first few weeks when I was literally doing it several times daily and I also asked my kids to help me check the temperature regularly. This is easy when I have stuck to a thermometer with a digital readout on the front of the tank.
Anyway, back to the topic, I noticed from the photos that there is at least one Electric Yellow in her tank. She said she has 2 medium and 1 small fish. The only small fish is obviously the tetra (Serpae?) so my guess is both the medium fishes are Electric Yellow. On my goldfish tank which doesn't have a heater, I noticed the temperature has dropped down to below 20 degrees on very cold mornings. I don't have Electric Yellow in my cichlids tank but can Electric Yellow survive in cold water (below 22-23 degrees)???

Tetras are schooling fish and should therefore be kept in a group of at least 5 or 6
That tank is too small for the fish that are in it
Red tailed black sharks are very aggressive fish and grow up to 12cms which is way to big for the tank
Electric yellows grow to 10cms which is also to big for the tank
These fish are active swimmers and need more space to be able to swim around
The fish in that tank just aren't really a good match and this person wants to ad more fish to it
Electric yellows can survive in a temperature of 22-28°C

Looks more like a lack of information than gross neglect like some cases you see.
Sschen,
Most people turn heaters off around November and only turn them on again about march... I left mine off till the start of May this year.

Ahhh the quality speaks for itself, even if free... would you risk your tank on this?

That there is a quality item! Might grab that and put a 6x2x2 on it.
