No procedure needed at all mate.
To much untrue garbage litters this hobbie, so don't believe some of the hype.

Only ship week days as quarantine inspection service that makes sure there's no plant material or snails doesn't work weekends.
Quarantine inspection services go home at 3pm, so if your stock arrives after that, your stock will have to sit at airport till next day.

Get flight number and time of arrival from sender to book quarantine in.
Call Qantas freight to get quarantine inspection phone number, because you have to book in the inspection once you have flight number and time of arrival to give them.
Book them in as soon as you possibly can when you get the details from sender.

It's not hard, it's just a timing and in order thing.

Don't have them sent over on a Friday because if they arrive to late you won't get them till Monday. Also watch out for public holidays.

its 8am to 4pm weekdays... unless pre book alternate time well in advance and be prepared to pay through the nose for that service...

as it is it will cost you $59 per 15 min interval of time used to inspect your fish...

good idea not to cut the timing close cause if the flight cops a strong headwind or is delayed on takeoff it will arrive late and if you miss the 4pm cut off thats too bad you'll be waiting till the next day...

and the number for quarantine is 9334 1802   B)

On the occasions I have shipped fish to Perth I have found it works well to send them on a late flight the night before so they arrive in Perth late at night and are ready for quarantine inspection and pickup first thing the next morning.

Cheers, Doug

Yes Definetely never worth shipping fish unless it's something that you want and can't get in Perth at the same time of money being no object.
What use to cost me $120 to ship fish from Perth to Sydney now cost over $350.
Apparently they've recovered their shortfall but their over zealous pricing still continues with rediculous organization and system failures that are very poorly constructed.
They expect people to book in their own services online (that has glitches), so they cut 80% of there end of service,,, then charge you three times as they use to.
There were small bussinesses built on the old rates and it destroyed a lot of situations for some people.
Very disappointing.
