So my friend's family are getting a fish tank and Right now it's looking to be 200 Litres or more depending on what they find!
They wanted to stock the tank with South American cichlids and there definitely near what I know!
I was thinking some of these!
4+ Geophagus and 8+ Large tetras (Lemon/Congo ect)
6+ Angel fish 2+ bristlenose/whiptails
Maybe 6+ Apistogramma 2 male and plenty of females (heavily planted, not really an option)
These people are beginners and most likely can't handle some tough stuff!
All effort and opinions are greatly appreciated in advance thanks!

Sounds kinda overstocked for a 200l, maybe just 2 geos, 2 angels, 4M convos, a trio of apistos and a cleaner BN would give them a nice amount of room and they'll be very happy

Apisto's and a couple of catties would look nice with a few easy to grow plants or even artificial plants.
Rainbow fish are well behaved, colourful and smallish community fish (I know, not american).

You will have to be careful with Apisto's. When paired and breeding they can dominate tanks. Quite a few types do not like each other also, so some heavy research will need to be done.
If the people are new to aquariums I would go for the Angelfish tank. A nice tank with some basic plants and wood with a swarm of angels looks absolutely fantastic.

Well I have no idea now! Bolivian ram?

Ooops nah man don't listen to me about the angelfish fighting. They are nice fish. Buy them.
Or you could do a fancy goldfish tank like chocky has suggested.
Check this video out:
Pet Magic in Bibra Lake set up a tank very similar to the video. Looked really nice. Although I find the character lacking in goldfish when compared to cichlids

Well I can go for colour with tangs for example I'm getting some Cyprichromis Leptosoma Livua, and I also recommended my friend to get some leluipi with those. They are both playful and colourful!
