My little filter has stopped pumping water :(
i turned it off while i was doing a water change. when i refilled, turned it on, nothing..

ive taken it apart and cleaned each parts and the little impellor is moving but no water is getting pushed through. i have tried with the cannister empty and also full of tank water.

any ideas?

dunno about eheims but check to see if the plastic blades on the impellor is still connected to the magnet bit at the bottom. sometimes it breaks away and while it spins once there is some resistance it stops moving

oo actually i did take it apart one more time tonight.

there was the plastic blades and another bit underneath that, which i needed to use a needle to get out. are they meant to be glued together cos they look like they are meant to attached or something.

I'll try again tmr morning.

hmm i'm assuming these two pieces are meant to be stuck together or at least the metal part turns the plastic propellor? .... why wouldnt you just make the whole bit one piece? :( should i try gluing them back together?3f296fe57fd01c934fd5ca2fe1dd4561.jpg

Glueing it back together might work for a short period of time, but best to get a new impeller and shaft so you don't risk that your filter stops on a Sunday night or while you are on holiday ! ;)

im pretty sure you should be able to find a replacement fairly cheap. as mattia said dont bother gluing coz it doesnt last very long and if it isnt perfect it just rattles around and doesnt work properly.
