Well I thought I'd start an AquaScaping thread for my new tank that I received on Wednesday (thanks Seaview). Started doing some Scaping yesterday, with some River stones from soils ain't soils and a nice big piece of driftwood.
The tank: 90x45x45cm on an Aqua Design Amano Cabinet
Hardscaping material:
Boyup Brook River stones
Driftwood (thanks Aquotix)
Substrate:
River sand, it's so much better than play sand for aesthetics but Farout, takes FOREVERR to clean lol.
I also used aqua soil substrate.
Scaping plan:
Putting in the substrate (I used cardboard supported by river stones so I could get a nice borderline between the gravel and sand.
I'll work on it some more tomorrow, still have to put the river stones in And add some more sand. But it's getting there, for plants I am thinking rotala and ambulia behind the wood, with anubias and java fern on the wood, then some alternanthera and cryptocoryne wendtii in the mid ground and either HC or baby tears in the foreground, I might have some java fern attached to the river stones too.
Thanks for looking!

^ Would also like to know this. I have put off my planted tank for now but before when I was chasing a few specific plants like anubis and java fern in decent amounts, I didn't know where to begin, none of the places nearby seemed to stock anything like what I was after

The bloke who sells aquarium plants from his house in Langford, $50 and you can literally fill up a 4x2, has some nice plants, and sells a huge variety.
can fins him in gumtree.
Otherwise support your LFS, in which aquotix is prob the best!
see everybody, all the good stuff is SOR. And im not a man whore MM85, I like to think im more of a ladies man at times, lol
