So I have bought a 5x3x2 aquarium and am looking for a filter to suit. I am looking at canister filters for j ow and was thinking of getting the fluval fx6. I have never used fluval so I am wondering what people thinkabout it.
Thanks in advance

Agree with Slink. You can crack one at a time without much risk of spiking the tank.

I imagine the FX6 would be just as good.

2228 now a discontinued line ( what a tragedy- best in the range imo). If you can find sone, grab them asap.
My 2226 is still going strong that I bought from you 13-15 years back, had a 10 year break from fish keeping though. I use it to recirculate sump just for a bit of extra media, doesn't have the grunt to push up 3ft, perhaps impeller a bit tired, apart from that quite as a mouse.

that sucks! i might have to get another as spare
probably explains why some eheim canisters are really well priced at the moment.
2080 new for $595 delivered anyone?

Nb; many cheap eheims are grey imports, not aussie stock. This has been covered in plenty of earlier posts.

I have a combo of 2217's, 2228's and the Astro 2212's.
Both Eheim's are great but those Astro's have never given me the slightest problem and the spare parts are always stocked & cheap (aquotix). Awesome quality and great value.
Vebas stock the Sicce Whale units I have no experience with but reports are good. The 500 model is ~$250 bucks each (I think) as well. Two of those should be a nice fit.

I was not aware of this....
Not to worry though, as I don't buy fish stuff online
