Red Tail Catfish Import

I am talking to a guy who is able to import (CITES cleared and chipped) Red Tail Catfish.
He has quoted me prices and has emphatically assured me that all clearance certificates are provided for safe passage through Customs and into quarantine.
However RTC is on Grey List with, whilst with not the highest risk rating, but still there.
Has anyone had experience with something like this? If all turns out to be cochre just how hard is it to bring stuff like this into our great land?
Any experiences or advice would be welcome
Thanks

Same deal with arowanas, theyre available on the market micro-chipped and with all the necessary paperwork but because theyre not on the permitable import list it automatically cancels them out as being legally importable.

How do I get hold of this "Importable Fish List"?
I have been through OFMIG's latest (I hope) but it only lists this species on the Grey list.

I did see that list while I was trawling the internet looking for information on this, but did not think it was the 'this is it' version.
Is that the same list you work on then?
Is there no opportunity for application etc? If not it is a shame, and I now fully understand a lot of peoples disappointment with the current standard of the industry.

If I could get them, I'd surely let you have one

Dont bother with trying for an application, it will get buried underneath someones desk unfortunately. The fact they also get huge will not help the cause.
Hopefully more people read that list of allowable imports and realise the positions the shops are in, we try to cater for everybody but are very limited!

What we need are dedicated breeders to get our tankbusters back in the market.
I was keen as, and had priced up some great custom tanks for that RTC too...
The search will continue.
As soon as I am back in Perth I think I will seriously consider something large scale, if the government hasn't completely taken all the greatness out of our hobby.
Thanks for the input Krystal
