Arch i will pay you $100 to step on a stonefish 8O
Dazza prepare your fish lol
And arch ill pay you at the hospital or give it to your loved ones at the FUNERAL! they are not total BS, one person survived by been CPR'ed for 2 hours until the ambulance came and pumped pure adrenaline straight into his heart!
There was a docco on Discovery channel, along with a alarmingly scary one on lionfish sting :? 8O put me off a bit, only 2 weeks to go

ive steped on one realy good feeling ! and a few kids back in hi school steped on them while doing beach swims and we are all alive (but we didnt get to see them but the teachers and hospital said they were stone fish) make it 200 and replace the fish and ill step on the bugger i think they would only kill ya if you had a weak heart or crashed you car on the way to the hospital but i would say it was more painfull then a large box jelly fish !

Is there a non lethal species of stonefish? I cannot get a Google search that doesn't end in it causing death lol
The documentary i watched on Foxtel also mentioned the stone fish as the most venomous of all fish species 8O
Well i think we can say that although it may be venomous or just a myth i think dazza isn't going to risk that, Ill keep the $200 i don't think it is worth trying that myth IMO

For the last time stonefish are not deadly
google is probably 10 years old
there is now antivenom "hotwater"
please listen to me its very frustrating
cobbler are painful but not dangerous
stonefish kill in very rare cases

Oh dear...
and snakes can be venomous but people keep them.
and scorpions can sting you and be venomous and people keep them
and cats can bite you and kill you from the disease
and people more frequently get killed by their pet dog than get envenomated by stonefish
and cars will kill you
and so will parachuting.
and some people die from eating peanuts
as long as you dont go climbing into your tanks and stepping on your stonefish or handling your blue ring octopus (and youd be fool to anyway) then I fail to see what the big deal is all about?

ahhh good to see lol, could one kill the other with poison?
If the frog fish climbed over the top of the stonefish could it be hurt?
They look real nice, what do you feed them?

Arch what are your qualifications to make such statements? Are you an expert on stonefish? You claim your friend stepped on one and survived, that means very little. Can you be certain of the exact species of stonefish it was and how much venom was injected and how deep into the tissue was the venom injectd?. If you are going to make the claim that stonefish are not deadly can you please back it up with some scientific evidence, as what you are saying can be potentially misleading and dangerous.
Below is from a quick google search and if you want to find the truth you would have to do some better searching as although there appears to be a claim below that there have been deaths they do not support it with any evidence :
Quote from website below: "The Reef Stonefish is the most venomous fish in the world. It has thirteen stout spines in the dorsal fin which can inject a highly toxic venom. The venom causes intense pain and is believed to have killed many Pacific and Indian Ocean islanders"

Den we had a big debate on this forum about if it was fatal or not, i will always think they are the most venomous fish in the seas and even if they are not venomous i would and will never step on one!
Dazza's is safe and i am sure he will treat it as if it isn't safe! you can buy many dangerous fish and items in life just with a little care you can be fine
