ive always been about the quality of the fish not how many species you can bang out of your tanks.
tang collection is fairly small but all i have room for
Benthochromis tricoti ( my all time favourite )
C. foae "magara" ( stunning graceful fish )
A . Calvus (black)
C . letosoma ( purley for dithers - maybe replace with nigrippinis soon )
C . Pleurospilus ( not a big fan , too agro )
X .sp "ndole bay" ( growing on me )
and some cukoo's
the tricoti are wild caught but only have four , trying to get some more and if i can get some E . melanogenys i'll get ride of the X. sp "ndole bay"
then i'll be back where i was when i left the hobby 4 odd years ago.
haha yeah the ute's cool.

Well the problem with this species is that AQIS have a minimum size of 5cm on them for importation purposes..... kinda excludes the females really, unless you get lucky and the AQIS person (who should be able to distinguish one fish from another) might let some 4cm ones slide in.... have had similar fish confiscated at the airport in the years due to being one or two cm under size....
So in general, you can assume that all occies at less than 4cm would have been bred here... and 90% of the time, it would have been bred from German imports or a male German with a local (once German Import) female.....
Keep in mind, that even if the fish are German imports (often bred in the Chech republic) they are still often inbred and can carry some disfigurement or pass some on... the Germans are not always perfect... look at me .... but it is the best we can get... if they get passed by AQIS.

how do you feel now young phillip? moving into tangs burns your pocket big time heh! great little fishes with lots of GUT aren't they!
get your shells from costplus + keep your water hard (a lot harder than malawi) should do the trick...and don't forget to let me know if you have any fries.....
