Good one mad
And they are C caudimaculatus too! Not the similar ones ( C similis). ie the origin of that species name.

thanks for all the great replies.. as for cam it is a 2.0 Megapixel Kodak Easyshare cam.. nothing special, but does the trick.
back to the cory's.. they finished spawning the second time late in the evening laying another 12 eggs, bringing the total up to 22 eggs over the 2 days of spawning. i am so very excited.. now it is waiting time to see how many are fertile.. keeping my fingers crossed...

Don't expect a real lot from them Mad. IME they are pretty shy spawners and the max I ever got from my lot was a hundred odd in a season. to Ian, but then he is a cory wizz !
IME they are a "high" temperature breeder as far as cories go, like C sterbai, around the 26 - 28 C mark. they are not real fertile, not real prolific, and not easy to spawn! So now you know why C caudimaculatus are three times the price or more of C similis in the LFS. (If they are labeled right)
Alan
PS.....There are sill a few species got me stumped! bloody C melini for one.

well the eggs have started to hatch... out of the 22 eggs.. 18 were fertile. so i got a 82% fertility rate from them.. not bad at all.. seeing all these little fry swimming around. and they spawned 2 more times for me over the weekend.. once giving me 6 eggs, and the next day giving me over 30 eggs.. out of the 36 eggs 2 have been confirmed unfirtile. hope i can riase these little guys up, if it is anything like raising aeneus fry i should have no problems

Hi Mad,
Congrats
Pretty good fertility rate too!!
The fry don't seem to need any specialist attention, pretty much the same as other corys.

well seems as though i get less amount of eggs with one female.. higher fertility rate.. then the larger female i get more eggs and lower fertility rate (55%).. ohh well.. i will just have to try to raise these little guys
