The tanks would be filtered, hes just done a great job of hiding the filter hoses :0

yeah Gibbs they are filtered , both tanks run a custom made "under gravel jet" system made from pvc , this is instead of a spray bar , because they are 2 1/2 deep i was worried about dead spots. the jet systems are run by eheim 2228's and the large tank has a 2228 with spray bar and the small tank has a 2217 spray bar set up.
all intakes , jets , spray bars and heaters are hiden behind my hand built "side grounds"

it's been a while , couple of pics after painting the house

next is the photo frames , then install the 150W metal halides with 20,000K globes

and thanks for taking us through the progress - it's useful to see how it's all come together.
My only criticism is that you went to all the effort of hiding heaters, filters etc., made the tank look as natural as possible, and then put bloody floaties in the tank

Plenty left to do
Plasterboard , painting , cornice , skirting boards , lighting , shelving , cupboards.
