At this stage just the red scats that hes already in with, and a few more ive got growing out the back. Tossing up weather or not to move the gibby across too.

Also thinking of trying out some mono argents/sebae because of their speed and agression. Ill have to find some reasonable sized ones though.

Might also try a big healthy freshwater crayfish of some kind and see if he kills it or not.

I've fed him yabbies before, he very much enjoys them. Last one he ate he smashed it so hard both of its claws came off. Unfortunately though you cant trust where they come from and I've had some issues with him getting parasites so he rarely gets live food these days. Too much of a risk for such an expensive fish....

Yeah he does enjoy a good dig around but that might just be room issues in his current tank. If it was a really big tank and the plants were fairly well anchored it might be alright?

The one I had at work has been sold
A guy came in and I told him the price thinking he would not buy it like all the other people that have asked about him, but no he came back 2 days later and bought him
He was getting over 30cm and was SMASHING goldies, Lived happily with the Barra & Scat. Next time they are available I will get another one.
Awesome fish for anyone wanting a large agro fish. So much speed and aggression.

Have finally added Jack to his new 6x2.5x2.5

He seems quite happy and is already terrorising all his tank mates and causing a ruckus. Heres some pics of the setup.

Luv the scaping, just need to hide the heater. Hard to tell from the pic does the heater have a guard? I imagine the MJ would have no dramas smashing it if spooked.

Not yet daz! But its going to get moved over to the left hand side behind the wood/plant pile and it'll definitely be getting a guard soon. He doesnt spook easy but he does like to bite things

Looking great mate, looks like up north Kimberly type of place where you might catch a MJ.

You have inspired me. I went and got myself a MJ from Malaga.

Got the smaller of the two that they had there. So I can watch him grow. Already has attitude on him after being in the tank for only 10 minutes. Cool looking fish, quite red for a small guy with a couple nice blue stripes on his face.

Surprise surprise i can only find 2 of 3 mono sebae. Turns out they arent too fast for a jack to catch hahaha. Oh well.

Yeah he's not too bad, will try get some pics up of him when he is well and truly settled in. Already smashing down bits of prawn, which is a good sign. Was thinking some oxe eye herring/tarpon would make great tank mates when it gets some size.

By all means give it a crack mate! Only fish ive had any success at all with my jack is red scats. Everything else gets murdered
