sorry but i didn't take any vids of the barra, archers, or eel tail catfish. I had my mobile phone on me and rainbow fish are one of my favourite fish   only had time for that quick vid before the crocodile show started

I have about 9 different types on Rainbowfish (7 from Australia). Hopefully by the end of the year I will be able to build and aquascape a completely Australian Native Tank. They are still fairly young, but are colouring up very nicely now. It is my projected to put together a tank with just Australian Community fish, plants and substract. I just got another tank, I very deep 3fter, won't be long enough for my rainbows, so am going to slowly constuct it into a South American Community tank.

Is that a Deepwater Creek Rainbow Fish (Mel. Splendia?)

Just a quick pic of the archers, scats and barra in their new tank, the sleepy cod is sulking at having his tank invaded by something he cant eat.

I got the wood free with some tanks I bought a few months ago. Im pretty sure the guy I got it off said he collected it himself up north.

Cheers man... I love these fish, all so different but compliment each other so well and all are pretty placid, no doubt the barra will get a little pushy as they get bigger.

I would love a little more wood like these for a full blown mangrove look. Im considering moving my 1600ltr tank to the garage and putting these fish in there. The Murray cod can go back in the 600ltr tank on his own.

Ive been kinda lazy about it but I have finally gotten around to closing down my pond tank and shifting it into my garage.
ive just finished plumbing the sump inlet and outlet.
50mm outlet, 25mm return, 40mm one way valve with a 4800ltr/h pump in a 200ltr sump
check it out.

Chucked a few fish in the big tank, barra went in but is kinda shy. Tomorrow im gonna put the coal grunter in and hope he doesnt start with any biffo! Leaving the archers out for another few days.

Serious dollars for the fish even bigger dollars looking after it! I read about people saying 6x2x2 is fine. I fail to see how it could possibly be fine!
If I was going to keep one I would put it in a swimming pool in my garage... all seems too hard for one fish.

I go the other way - small I have a couple of nano tanks with natives in them.

 

The 60l tank has Finke gobies and Darwin Red Nose shrimp, and the 30l tank has Darwin algae eating shrimp. The gobies are just fun to watch, only grow to around 5cm and are territorial, sit at the bottom of the tank but hop up regularly. The shrimp are a lot nicer to watch than I thought; the DRNS like to go for a swim and float about the tank.

Nice! Id love to do a 100ltr mini native tank. Could be a bit of fun.

Problem is I really like my bigger fish, so much attitude and character. 

They are always interesting, last night the sleepy cod jumped and tried to swallow one of my fingers while I was feeding the archers and scats... He hadnt been fed yet, got impatient, cracked it and decided to let me know I was out of line.... it wasn't pleasant but it was funny as hell afterwards.

Now I just need to plant the back of the tank... Im thinking about tons of Val. Anyone know where I can get bulk val cheap? For the amount I need, I dont wanna pay pet shop prices for it unless someone can do a good rate for it.
