yeah they need harder water pH around 7.8? and water around 24C? erm other than that is there anything else? I'm not completely sure hmmmOh no
Don't you have lids on the tank?
They are pretty timid and not aggressive at all, but remember they are still cichlids ...
Btw, have you done your research about what water parameters they need? I was trying to pinch myself and not say anything but.......
no i dont have lids cos it's a rimless tank. but i guess should look at getting something.

Not bored with the biotope but I dont have tanks all over the place like I did have and I kinda want the freedom to muck around.
I have a lily in my tank, its not native but it looks great and my fish love it.
I'll continue with the journal but not as a biotope.

Tank looks awesome MM!! Love the plants. The little guys are so cuuutee! Something weird happened to the post though.. The text and photos have been duplicated. Unless it's something on my side. I have been looking forward to seeing what we both do with our tanks due to the similar fish in there haha.

Yep cant wait to see how your tank comes along... must be about time you show us your scape.
I think the entries this year are looking pretty impressive! The comps starting to get exciting... despite the fact im basically ineligible to win anything now.

If you want some fine black sand, I have a bag of Tahitian Moon Sand you're welcome to have for this aquascape

Yeah I'm really happy about that. If only I was better at raising fry.......
I may need to get a larger tank though, and take the babies out of that tank once they are a reasonable enough size to move

I have similar problems in my aquascape. Blackbrush has popped up on the Bolbitis. It might be due to slow growth of the Bolbitis and extremely bright led light, light duration as well as plant metabolism of the co2 and nutrients, that may be causing it. I am considering of removing Bolbitis and substituting it with a slow growing plant where the leaves don't last as long as the Bolbitis. May be a cryptocoryne as a central plant?
What do you reckon?
Cheers,
