It's good to see who the hardcore cichlid enthusiasts in Perth are. I barely keep cichlids these days but would never have missed it.
Seeing Ian McGreggor at a PCS meeting/function in hindsight was like going back in time. I know it's been a long time since I attended a meeting, its been longer since he was President.

Even better when ppl who try to big note get shot down!
Yeah that fell flat didn't it?
Was an excellent night and to paraphrase the bard, members who did not attend will hold their manhoods cheap in the presence of those happy few who were there.

Well done everyone it was a mammoth day and night, anyone who says they didn't get one's money's worth is crazy. Yes a crack shot that by Ad got that big green bullfrog right between the eye's.

Big thanks to the committee for realising a true milestone for the club. My member number is in the low double digits so that shows how far we have come in growing and being able to afford such an event. Our list of international speakers is something to be proud of and to get Ad and Juan here is money well spent. The venue was good, the food was delicious and I have so much information about cichlids in my head I'm sure I keep seeing them when I close my eyes!
Good on ya for those who came to this event - I would have liked to see a few more bums in seats though.
Special thanks to Juan for being such a trooper and basically stepping off the plane to give a talk. I hope he got some rest on the couch

Glad the event went well. Unfortunately an 8 week old and 3 yr old are 'apparently' more important than seeing Ad.
I'm sure you guys have already thanked him but i will say it as well, credit to kleinz. He wanted to ensure everything was perfect for you all and the big event. Took lots of time out to organise the venue, sound, projector, catering the works.
Hope to meet you all at the next event. Very happy to hear you guys enjoyed it.

Cawdor has
X: "So Ad would you say anyone who breeds these is a bit of a guru?"
Ad: "No these are easy to breed"
This is the best post I've seen on PCS for a LONG time. Such burn.
He also asked Juan if they ate the cichlids in Mexico with rice or beans or something to that effect. I LOVED Juan's presentation, I hope he puts a book together one day.

I really enjoyed the video of the lake tanganyikan gobies too. Well I enjoyed the whole lot, but those were a couple of highlights for me.
I'm also thinking a trip to Mexico would be nice, as those photos of the cichlid habitats were the kind of places you see on a postcard.
