Hey guys just got myself a 15cm acei, a 10cm blue faced peocock

and a 6 cm electric yellow, my problem is the acei is constantly

bullying the peocock. My tank is a 3 foot and im running a aqua

one cf 1000 canister, should I get rid of the acei and get another

5 or 6 smaller peococks or should i just try and get a couple of more

peococks and see if that spreads the agression out I know 3 foot

is really small but its all I have room for and wont be upgrading for

some time.

What is your tank layout like? Rocks, hidey holes, caves, etc.

I have found you many of these issues with some thought about setup in the tank. Maybe throw up a quick pic?

Acei are usually reasonably docile. I reckon grab a couple more of each around the same size. Try and get all males. Otherwise you might breed some more hybrids. No girls in the tank means there is one less thing to fight about.
Also make sure you have lots of hidey holes. Acei really love rocks. They are also the closest thing to a schooling african cichlid i have come across so maybe give him a few mates about the same size.
Also its a good idea to buy juvies and grow them up together... They get along better that way.

Looks fairly open. Build some structure in the tank. Will totally transform the look in your tank and keep all your fish happier. Good examples:

ok cool will try changing the layout and maybe get a couple more little guys, still pondering wether or not I should get rid of the big one,

may be a bit big for the tank.

If you get rid of the big acei pretty much anything else you get will grow to a similar size in no time at all.
Add lots of rock and grab a few more fish is my advice.
I use limestone from bushland with no problems. I also use rail ballast and rock used in stormwater culverts for scour protection.
All i do is give it a quick scrub and chuck it in do a waterchange after 24 hours just in case and thats it.

ive had some some mean acei before... which acei do you have? that was pretty blury pic of acei... which acei is it? i had 1 particular kind of acei once that used to tag them a big american from front and behind so he couldnt get them all at once... but that was my first cichlid tank.... they were terrible when there was more then 1 ... they schooled together and created problems .. i think it was the purple aceis that i had

yellow tail would be my guess by pic but still its pretty blury lol

Nothing flash I just scored a 4 foot that needs repairing has a leak

so will prolly be awhile but I think they like there new home.

Leaks are a quick fix if you know where they are.
As for stands, 4ft is a very common length so finding an appropriate stand on here/gumtree will be no problem I'm sure.

Good luck.
