Thanks Global!
I had a brief discussion with Krystal about using CO2. My theory is that because i won't be going a fully "dutch aquarium", but mainly as a haven for Discus/Angelfish I don't think I'll be using CO2. But if in future my plants seem "weak", then I'll be adding CO2. We'll see how it pans out!
The wood pieces floats a bit so I had to temporarily weigh them down with some rock pieces....bah!

I suppose that you could always make DIY C02 kit to give them plants a good kick start!
But i see your point with not going into a full blown planted tank!

Got a whole bunch of plants from Aquotix today and scaped them into the tank. It's about 1/4 full now.. lol
Will update with pics when the tank is fully scaped!
Krystal, the java fern looks sooo awesome wedged into one of the wood!!
Cheers!

I was gonna upload pics when the whole tank has been scaped.. but the missus reckons I should upload what I've done so far for public opinion and advice...
So, here's what I've done so far:
FTS3.JPG 127.04KB 152 downloads
It's only about 30% complete.. A lot more plants to go in etc.
Disregard the 2 small pieces of rock.. I'm temporarily using them to hold down the wood which still floats abit!

Thanks Tom. I've only been to Aquotix for the plants ( mutual business relationship, right Oliver? )
I'm heading to Midlands tomorrow to catch up with Az. No doubt I'll walk out of there with a bunch of plants.. LOL!

Wow, I likey Kev! Nice contrast between the dark substrate, background and plants. Only thing that stood out as odd was the gap in the middle of the tank.
I like what's you've done in each corner by having something in the back, middle and foreground. Are you going to go for some sort of ground covering plant too?
Daz

Thanks Daz!
The tank is only about 30% complete hence a lot of "gaps"....
I'll be adding chain swords as ground covers.
Cheers!
