Figured I may as well do one of these, sharing ideas, mistakes and always open to constructive criticism. Apologies for my camera, it's so slow at taking photos!

I bought a 3 Tier, second hand stand and 2 tanks, 6x18x18. Which I somehow got into an about 8ft square room. Which subsequently flooded with 2" deep water when a tank practically exploded on the side against the wall. I have learned that tanks must be absolutely level, or 6-8mm glass won't stop anything.

Bottom Layer: Saro and Bichirs
6x18x18, internal powerheads, air driven filters also. T8 tubes above, play sand as a fine substrate, and some nice bits of wood for caves etc.
Currently 2 Polypterus senegalus senegalus at about 20cms, one male one female, 1 Scleropages leichardti, at about 15cms, and has grown about 2cms in the last month! Also one little Crossocheilus siamensis, who is taking care of the algae on the wood pretty darn well.

Middle Layer: Discus
Was a 6x18x18, atm a 6x14x18 until I can get another one. Eheim 2217 and currently T8tubes above.
Currently 4 Blue Turqs (2 breeding pairs) and 1 Red Alenquer juvi, and a whole lotta little bristlenoses. These fish are still breeding, about once a week for the last 2 months now. Thinking of putting a little more driftwood in and replacing the anubias and water sprites with some java ferns tied to the wood. And a few more discus smile.gif

Top Layer: Yet To Come
Looking for something to do a nice setup in here, perhaps a malawi setup, but to be honest I don't know all that much about most cichlids, and any help or suggestions would be fantastic! Thinking a 6x18x18 or 6x18x12high tank, with internal filtration so I don't have to get a cannister filter to pump about against about 2m head hieght.

Looks good Kieran, love the colour of the discus.

Have you considered turning the top tank when yoy get it into a shellie tank?

I've been thinking about it. I don't know much about them though... They're smaller than most other cichlids?

Also love the colour of Stevegreen's 2nd place winning fish in that international photo comp, the C.foae "Magara". Anyone know where I could get one? Google has only a little info on keeping them. Beautiful fish smile.gif
