This is when my house was being built and i had it full of malawi`s at the mother inlaws house

This one was when we moved into our new house (still full of malawi`s)

So now this is the tank going back together for a much better look, i think so anyway, hope you enjoy

empty tank still with old back ground on it

3D back ground glued on with bags of sand putting presure on the bottom half and G clamp at the top

sand in ready to go

wood in place, what a bastard it was to get it in the tank

dads helper

everything in place ready to fill

right side

left side

centre

ive been playing with one of my other tanks since then so when i clean the finger prints off ill put up the finished product with fish in it and the new light i fixed inside the hood make it look much better.

Cheers Dale

Is it gonna leach or was it soaked?

Nice to finally see my old piece of wood to good use!

Yes total bugger to get in the tank, luckily I'd gone through the effort of cutting it down to fit in a 2ft high tank!

Looking forward to seeing how this pans out my new 5x24x30 project will start in 2-3 weeks hopefully.

Malaysian trumpet snails will keep your sand fresh by burrowing in it during the day then coming out to clean the tank during the night. Can get some at aqoutix I think.

Juls

Daz, ive got quite a few in there atm, i know ill have to thin these out in the future due to the size they will get, but here is what ive got in there, 1 30cm giant gourami, 1 15cm silver scat, 1 15cm saratoga, 1 20cn feather fin cat, 2 10-12cn salmontails, 2 8cm humbug cats, 1 12-15cm decorus cat, 1 20 albino Asian Redtail cat(really is like a pussy cat), 1 20cm sailfin gibby, 1 15cm albino sailfin gibby, 5 10-15cm clown loaches + 1 5cm, 3 yoyo loaches 7-10cm, the loaches use the albino Asian Redtail as a pillow, they all getalong very well, i put the loaches in there when i had a cone snail problem in the lime sand, but they didnt get them all
