Hello
I have a Saratoga around 25cm so it's still in its early stages and was wondering if I introduced archer fish into the tank.
The Saratoga doesn't seem too aggressive, 4 other cobalt chichlids around 3-4 months old have lived in this tank with him their birth (now 5cm) but that might only be because they hide behind the filter most of the time
So would the Saratoga ignore the archer fish or will they just get harassed by it.

Who knows. Saratoga have an unpredictable reputation, they can be fine with tank mates, some for life others just snap and beat the hell out of everything.

trial and error in this instance.

fish occupying the same aquarium level may clash a little.

but if you want to sell that jardini ill be keen :)

Archers wont really hide unless they're getting battered. They only really know to swim around at the surface.

If you are going to give it a go, maybe put the Archers in when you have a couple of days where you can watch them and intervene if they get smacked around... Still no guarantees long term though.

Just get some 'big' archers so that when the Jardini outgrows them, by that time it's already used to them...

We have an 8x2x2 at work heavily decked out with logs, branches, plants etc .. It houses a 40cm jardini with 5 full grown 30cm archers and a few catfish.. The jardini defiantly tries to beat the archers up all the time.. I personally wouldn't recommend it unless your prepared to have losses.. Cheers jase

I ha e big archers in with a massive jardini , %90 of the time all is well , but only because the archers are smart . Jardinis do just snap from time to time and will kill tank mates they've been getting along with fine the rest of the time ( RIP monos ) almost all tank mates of a jardini or on borrowed time

Haha I think I met you before, are you Justin? And do you remember a kid and his mum coming in and having a chat to you? The kid (me) asked why the freshwater mussels had a cross through them and you (was it you?) said that it meant they were no longer getting supplied.
That's if you don't have that happen 24 / 7 lol and you remember.
Oh yeah, also told you that butler lakes got yabbies in it, and you told me it also has shrimp.

That saratoga looks more like S. Leichardti to me. Tell me Benjvh, does it have a pattern on its gills?
