Tank size / capacity: 4x2x2
Type of Food fed: aquaone floating cichlid pellets, sometimes frozen bloodworm cubes and sometimes zuchinni or cucumber
Feeding frequency/amount: every morning
Substrate: black pebbles
Type of filtration: Aquaone 1200 canister filter
Frequency of filter cleans:
Frequency and % volume of water changes: 2 weeks 35-45%
Last water change: 6 days ago
PH: 7.4-7.6
KH:
GH:
Nitrite: 0ppm
Nitrate:80ppm
Ammonia: 0ppm

Medications used recently to date:
Any recent changes..new fish/filters/power outages etc etc: lost an electric yellow about a week ago due to an unknown cause, i was away working and mum was feeding them and found it floating one morning so i never got to examine it personally, i think that has brought on abit of shyness. but the dirty side of him has been progressing over the last few months. he seems healthy. and all the other fish are happy and healthy so not sure how normal this is or what not?

any information would be appreciated!

thanks.

Too much stress or too much colour food IMO.

Or might be a hybrid.

I was leading towards the hybrid, I say that as the jaw line looks like it has shades of blue.

When mine get stressed they don't get dirty, they just don't show as much black in the fins and the yellow isn't as vibrant.

When they are about to fight I see small amounts of 'dirtiness' in its yellow but nothing like that.

hmmm yeah i see what you mean with the blue in the jaw line. i'm starting to think hybrid aswell.

don't really know what to do with him. he bring's the colourful mood of my tank down.

any idea's on how i should approach this?

on closer inspection of the smaller yellow in my tank, he looks like he may turn out similar as he grows up abit more as well.
