Hey all,

I noticed my pair of green terrors (orange edge) showing signs of breeding, I did a water change yesterday so today they found a small flat rock and started breeding! Amazing to watch, very cool fish!! Super protective.

Male: (quite dark atm)

Thanks Guys!

Do you think I should separate the pair and the eggs off from the other fish?

yeah when the fry become free swimming other fish will eat them as the parents will find it harder to protect them when they start taking off on their own... and also parents can get even more aggressive once they are free swimming because of the fact its harder for them keep them all together...

Thanks Everyone!

I'll put the divider in. Do green terrors protect their fry inside their mouths sometimes? I noticed my JD female usually held the fry in her mouth.

Yes definatly get a divider in the tank, If your able to get the other fish out of the tank once divided, I would do that also.

Most Americans usually dont keep the fry in the mouth, But they will pick up fry and clean them and spit them back out again.

Keep up the pics, Always great to see fry growing.

Thanks Az! What time should I get the fry into another tank? I have a 90x45x45cm tank for them.

Thanks very much for your kind words guys. lol Malawiman, glad to inspire you :P

Fry going well, tried to get them in a mesh fry saver but they are so tiny that they go straight through haha. But the mum was fantastic and regrouped all them in her cave :) so cool.

Good news and bad news...

Bad news is Mum ate all her fry last weekend. :(

Good news is that they spawned again today :)

Sweet. I'd just leave them to it the first half dozen times. Let them get it right and bond solid.
