gotta a funny feeling you need a license for that sort of thing, probably from CALM. However, you may like to contact, or visit Mudrock university (school of enviro. sci), where you may be able to render some assistance in sampling native populations and/or get involved in a legitimate captive breeding program (both, legal activities).
good luck

President: ... Ken Shaw 09 377 1097
ANGFA (WA) meets on the fourth Monday of every month at 8.00pm in the Sandgate Street Rotary Hall in Como.
They had a presentation a couple of months ago on collecting and there was certainly some very knowledgable people there.

The want all relivant records from were the fish came from kept by the seller - private or comercial.
this is for WA natives only.
With only one licensed supplier of this kind in town things will be hard find.
If you go looking for natives all you may catch is trouble

And where was this stream?
Sometimes while catching Gambusia (they look like guppies) I catch these little gobies, I looked them up a long time ago and they were called the Swan river goby... interesting name as they were in the Canning and the FW part. Also catch these little glass shrimp, angelfish loved them (when I had some years ago) and the oscars like taking them out too. The largest goby I caught was at least 10cm, and yes was released back. Most I catch are around 1 inch and are also released, only interested in the feeders, also before I get flamed for taking the shrimp half of the shrimp catch is released alive back to the water.
This has nothing to do with alex's question, lol, but someone might find it interesting?
Excuse me do you sell Jazz CD's
