Scientific Name: Chilotilapia rhoadesii
Pronunciation: Chi-low-till-ar-pee-a road-dees-e-i
Trade Name(s): Rhoadesii
Distribution: Lake-wide distribution
Habitat: Muddy areas
Diet: Invertebrates
Sexing: Males in breeding dress are metallic blue.
Females are silver with a yellow tinge. They also display the juvenile barring from head to caudal.
Maximum Size: 30cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Available in Oz.
Comments: Chilotilapia rhoadesii have a very rounded head. If offered snails they will display their natural feeding behaviour.
