Scientific Name: Labidiochromis caeruleus
Pronunciation: Lab-id-e-o-cro-mis sa-rule-e-us
Trade Name(s): Electric Yellow
Distribution: Many locations in the Lake.
Habitat: Rocky coastline.
Diet: Aufwuchs, Algae, Insects & Snails.
Sexing: Male's usually have a darker black anal fin.
Females have a clear or faint black anal fin.
Maximum Size: 13cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Commonly Available in Oz.
Comments: The most popular & well known African cichlids. Labidiochromis caeruleus are a peaceful cichlid that shows great color and are easy to breed, making a great starter Malawi.
They are becoming rarer in the Lake.
