Scientific Name: Lethrinops sp. 'red cap'
Pronunciation: Leth-rin-ops species red cap
Trade Name(s): Red capaz
Distribution: Northern Tanzania
Habitat: Sandy rocky areas
Diet: Invertebrates.
Sexing: Males have a stunning orange/red cap on the head & turquoise body.
Females are silver.
Maximum Size: 11cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Becoming more available in Oz
Comments: A beautiful display fish when in breeding dress, but tank must be selected with care as this species is not aggressive and can be over powered easily.
