After being out of the game for a year or so..... i couldn't resist the idea of getting a mangrove jack. Now i have one along with a saratoga. Both are roughly the same size so there hasnt been any huge conflict yet... (I going along with the theory that if they are raised together they wont fight) but im bracing myself for WW3. So far the saratoga is just cruising around with the jack doing the same, havent seen them have a go at each other yet.

Here are some pics... not completed the aquascaping yet, hoping to get a few more peices of driftwood and perhaps some mangrove plants.

what are your thoughts??

cheers

Looking nice silly. What size tank/filter etc are you running?

Maybe you will need to add a few pieces that will break line of sight for the fish as they get bigger...?

cheers guys

There in a 5x18x18 for the time being will get a larger tank soon. Running an Eheim pro 2026.... just added some yabbies which can help clean up and be food for them. I think i need a tandanus or something similar as they are messy eaters. Dont know how that will go down tho...

havent really seen my toga eat anything live yet but the jack is brutal, there's quite a mess....... Its quite hard feeding the toga coz he's too slow, the jack will have his gob full and still have a crack at more. What are you feeding the toga??
