#309093 4200L/ph Air Pump

Posted by Bickley on 23 February 2014 - 05:44 PM

Brand: Pond One O2 Plus 8000
Age: Only used for 2 months before I shut shed down
Price or ballpark figure: $150
Shipping available: No
Description, incl condition of the item: Excellent condition near new, quietest one I've come across, Run your entire setup off one pump instead of having individual filters in every tank. Was more then enough to run my whole shed with around 35 large filters yet reduced my power usage by a fair bit and made water changes ect so much easier :)

#307558 Shark Killing, Ridiculous

Posted by Bickley on 09 February 2014 - 11:25 AM

A bloke in a lunch bar Friday was reading the paper started chatting to us about the shark cull... He use to scuba dive 20+ years ago until he had a encounter with a shark, didn't attack him or anything just scared the sh* t out of him and he has never been back in the water nor does he ever plan to.. then mentioned he is all for this shark cull... I said to him how cab you be all for something that doesn't affect you as you don't plan on ever swimming in the ocean anyway ? I asked him if he had a dog which he replied yes so I asked him if I jump your fence and try break into your house and your dog bites me is it alright to put it down ? He replyd no coz you came into my dogs yard ... I had a bit of a chuckle and said so why should we put sharks down if they bite us while were in there territory, if anything your dog deserves to be put down more then the shark as it is supposed to be a taim trained animal that has a rapid growing population compared to a wild shark.... He turns around and goes I've never thought about it like that I no longer support the culling :)

I previously have had ppl come to collect fish and offer around the $500 mark for my Pleco when they seen it.. Different is me and Rigger actually pulled it out and put a tape to it and it was 50 odd cm's and a actual sailfin :) should have bloody sold it before it died :(
Nah that's the one fish that kept me in the hobby cheers Echotracer you cost me even more money lol

But that isn't 55cm for starters the tank it's in doesnt look like 2 foot deep and it wouldn't be any larger then the tank. If my sailfin laid in front of them flower pots you wouldn't see them :) it's tail would be touching the substrate and it would be eating food off the surface in my 6x2x2 lol

Try Sapphire pools. Their "Junior Hawaiian" pool has one of the tables you're after so they might be able to get spares.

Was a good idea mate cheers :)
Gave the Joondalip store a call bloke was pretty abrupt. Pretty much did you buy pool from us...
No....can't help you then, try out head office if you want.

So called head office and they were very friendly and helpful only problem is there pool tables have a 50mm connection on them so ill have to customize to suit as mines 60mm :( but not to big a problem. The big problem is the $300 they want just for the 600mm diametre table top without post or mount.... Nearly fell of my chair I'm swapping trades anyone need cheap plastic tables at ridiculous prices lol

Odds are if you can't even find them on google using a hundred different word combinations your not going to find a shop in Perth with them :( so thats my next plan to find something similiar and modify :) Worked a bit of a sweat up this arvo cleaning the yard up so figured it was the perfect opportunity to dive in and get the exact measurement of the floor mount bracket. Wind had a bloody bite to it though especially with our pool area being elevated. Luckily I somehow got the missus on her 1 good day for the month and had her bringing me my bourbons ;)

Haha sweet were hopefully going back end Jan as well :)

Jack mack I found the neck wasn't bad but in saying that my artist also told me I'm f***** weird lol because all the spots that are suppose to hurt don't bother me as much as places that shouldn't lol the worst part about the neck was when they stretch the skin out to do the next bit there pulling on fresh ink thats a constant sting. so far knuckles are the best could do them all day followed by the shin (back of my carve hurt but was second day so leg already sore and swollen I guess) and believe it or not my neck hurt less then my arm lol

Not really what i was expecting....
I reckon the most aggressive cichlid, would have to be the pbass in a local lake... Anyone remember where that story came from?

Haha got a feeling Kleinz remembers that story :) either that or he has got out of fish keeping and taking up waky tobacy :)

#295461 Apprenticeship Trial Period

Posted by Bickley on 16 September 2013 - 07:45 PM

Haha we had a apprentice once got him rubbing doors back for me while I was in the booth painting the rest.. There was a big flat bed car trailer we used for loading our kitchens on just outside the booth along with a bunch of drying racks so we would lay a blanket on the back of the trailer and use it as a work bench when the booth was full.. Anyways took me about 45 minutes to put final coat on all the doors in the booth all I needed was to grab the 10 or so doors the apprentice was rubbing back put the final coat on them and I could start the next job... Considering it would take me 10 minutes tops to rub them back as they have had 3 undercoats and just needed a wipe with sponge pad you would think even a brain dead monkey could do it in 45 minutes :) well I walk out of the booth and he is laying on the trailer yep you read it right actually laying on the trailer on his side sanding the doors and he had only done 4 doors and he didn't flinch when I came out didn't even try look busy and to top it off the boss walked in just as I came out and he just looked up at him and said hey lol the boss went and grabbed a pillow out of his camp gear and smacked him across the back off the head told him " hope you got some lube coz if I'm gonna pay you to lay around your gonna have to burry your head in that pillow and earn it" lol I lost it laughing but it scared the apprentice he gave his notice to the other boss over the phone after work that night never seen him again :)

#295449 Albino Gibbiceps And Gold Spot

Posted by Bickley on 16 September 2013 - 05:48 PM

Hey mate totally depends on what someone is willing to pay.. As a rough idea for you here is what I've paid previously
Sizes approximate:
32cm sailfin - $100
18cm albino - $60
15cm albino - $50
2x 20cm gold spots - $150 for both
25cm gold spot - $100

From what I've noticed they get cheaper as they get bigger.. don't understand exactly how that works but I don't complain as I prefer big ones lol think its more got to do with the demand not being as great for larger ones though as my sailfin got to almost 2 foot long when it was vertical on front glass it's head would be at surface and tail touching sand on bottom was a great fish to watch swim especially under moon lighting :) but I'd say my 6x2x2 would be minimum size tank for it
