Converting A Red Sea Max 130 To Fresh Water

11 January 2017 - 06:58 PM

Hi There

I have just dragged out an old Red Sea Max 130 tank out of storage and I was hoping to convert it to a fresh water tank. I was just after a bit of advice on how I should do this as I won't require the protein skimmer and the power heads are far too strong for a planted tank and they also don't filter the water. Has anyone has successfully done this and if so how did you go about it? I was hoping I could use some sort of filter system in the existing space behind the back wall of the tank where the power heads are currently installed.

I was also looking at changing out the tubes in the light hood for these so I have the correct lighting temperature to grow plants. http://makemyled.com.au/pricing.html

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated as I want too do this correctly before I plant it up.

The link below is a similar to my tank.
