Scientific Name: Aulonocara sp. 'lwanda'
Pronunciation: A-loo-no-car-a species lar-won-dar
Trade Name(s): Lwanda Peacock
Distribution: Hai Reef & Chiwindi
Habitat: Shallow intermediate habitats from 3 to 10mtrs
Diet: Snails & other Invertebrates
Sexing: Males are a deep blue with a lime/yellow collar & yellow tips on all fins except pectorals.
Females have a silver/brown body with barring.
Maximum Size: 15-16cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Commonly Available in Oz. One of the most popular Peacocks as they possess beautiful flowing fins, making them a great display species.
