Scientific Name: Melanochromis johannii
Pronunciation: Melen-o-chro-mis Yo-han-eye
Trade Name(s): Johannii
Distribution: East Coast between Makanjila Point & Chuanga
Habitat: Rocky Shoreline
Diet: Aufwuchs, Invertebrates
Sexing:Males are black with white lines running the length of the body, Females are yellow/orange
Maximum Size:12cm
Temperature:24-25c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Readily available in Oz.
Comments: A nicely colored Melanochromis, females have the ability to take on male coloration. Easy to breed, perfect for the beginner.
