was emptying my tank, didnt take notice of the heater been out of the water and still plugged in.
Fileld tank back up and i heard sizzling, check the heater and a splash of water hit it.................BANG!

Goodbye heater!

Now im down a 300w heater in my 5 x 2 x 2 tang tank

HOW STUPID OF ME a tank literd with glass because it literally did go back im lucky i did not get cut, so everyone take this as a warning from experience. Unplugg your heaters when u do a water change because damn it can cost ya!

Blake I did that too.... I was cleaning my multi tank in a rush and took it out and left it on the shelf, then I forgot about it.

NExt morning I was feeding fish and couuld smell burning. My heater had burnt a huge mark into my shelf

Its good its summer so I dont need to buy a heater for a while...

was emptying one of my tanks, and unplugged the heater in that tank( i thought) and i noticed smoke coming from it, and i knew then and there it might be . . But i was lucky cause it only smoked for 10seconds before relising i unplugged the wrong heater.
So i suppose i got a lifeline with it, o yeah and i forget to plug back in the other heater, fish temp went down to 23degrees over night, so i can count my self lucky more than once there i guess

last week,one night, i heard a muffled 'bang',and thought i saw a flash from out the back.(sleepout is my fishrom)i thought it was just some fireworks or something,and forgot about it.next day i noticed it was a heater in one of my tanks just blew up !!it was submerged,no big fish to bang it,only poss,is it may have leaked?couldnt realy tell,too much damage!fish were all fine!

I was fixing mine and it went bang in my hand...i know miss my lil pinky on my right hand!
