Does anybody know where I can get a hold of Levamisole for the treatment of Camallanus Worm infestation? Any help would be really appreciated. Got an unexpected bonus from my LFS!></span>:

What a shame, I hope you have told your lfs about it so they can treat their fish accordingly prior to selling any of them to others.

For the Levasimole, I would try your local vet.

Barramundi,
Pig and Poultry Wormer from Elders or the like will clear your problem up.

I have used a canary worming product that contains levamisole with no problems. You could ring your local pet shop.

The best value for money when I last treated for worms was "Big L - Wormer for Poultry and Pigs." I got mine from Landmark but any rural supply shop will have it.

Thanks all. I bought a 500ml bottle of Big L from City Farmers Malaga for $17. I'm using a dose of 1.5ml per 7.5L's. Does that sound right to you guys???:mb

Please be aware that posting the name of fish shops with comments that may be construed as defamatory can have legal consequences for yourself, the society AND the people running this forum.

Thanks

No need to worry. Malaga was just where I found the medication, after an hour or so of searching, and probably 100k's of driving. I won't say where I bought the fish, as advised, but they've been notified, so hopefully they'll treat their tanks. I haven't dealt with them much, so can't vouch for their "reputability" but I'm sure they'll treat their tanks, if only for self protection.

On a side note, defamation only applies where I say something that's not true about someone. Having said that, I certainly am not out to cause anxst for anybody. The worms seem to be dying so hopefully no foul.:good

I am perfectly well aware of what defamation is, I worded m,y post as "may be construed as defamatory" for that very reason. Whilst the fact may be true, there is burden of proof on the accuser in such a case.

Thank you for not posting the name of the shop on the forum.

Sorry, no offence intended. Like I said, I don't want to cause any angst, and I respect your opinion and hence followed your advice. Again, no offence intended.

Owen the Camallanus worms often protrude from the fish's anus; they look like thin, reddish pieces of string.
