How do you go raising the fry? Do you have to seperate the faster growers?

They are happy and fat mate.It is not easy but as they grow more i think it will be easier. At the moment i have not separate the faster growers
but i think i will do that next 5-10 days. Some people say that the fast growers are the males but i am not sure about that.

I reckon they're just quicker swimmers haha. Awesome fish.

What size tank have you got the pair in and what size are th Bass?

This is a pair I have growing out in a 6x2. 20-25cm approx. I would love to hopefully one day breed them.

This is a 40cm female I picked up the other day. Apparently has laid 8 or so times, got them to wrigglers, but always been in TB community tank so the guy I got her off never bothered with the fry.

Nice fish mate and the female is huge..I have a pair in a 6x2x2 and they are 35-37cm and a trio in a 6x2x2 and they are 25-28cm.
Do you keep the 3 bass and the rest fish in your show tank?

Jut noticed your from Tas as well. Me to. Launceston, you?

I have the pair of bass, a red dragon flowerhorn ,motoro x Leopoldi pup and 3 baby wild caught oscars that are sectioned off in the 6x2.

I have this 1100L tank "200x75x75cm" in my "soon to be fish shed" with a 2200L acrylic planned for late this year.

Hi Sam,

It is okay until they outgrow it. These are the first ones I've owned mate. But I always like to give my fish the most room possible to move. I will PM you on the other question as it isn't a very liked discussed topic on this forum.

Well ultimately I would love to breed fresh water rays in that 1100L and have a nice collection of TBs in the other. Maybe setup the 6x2 with some nice planted driftwood and some earth eaters and more friendly SA cichlids.

Nice work mate, they are cute little buggers!

I love how they have such a massive mouth already, I remember seeing a mates P bass fry that was about 20mm with another one in its mouth that would have been about 15mm, both died unfortunately and he ended up seperating all the bigger ones. They are veracious little buggers, make sure you keep an eye on them smile.gif

Thank you Ice.It is really a pain when they start cannibalize ....and i will keep an eye on them for sure..

Sam i feed the babies 5-6 times per day with BBS and dry food.
The adults i feed them every 1 or 2 days depending how much and what i feed them..
