ahahah, well said mate well said.
Couldn't think of any food that is 100% australian, all 'our' recipes are derived from other countries and bastardised to suite us...
We dont even have our own cuisine, so to call a burger Aussie, hahah, jokers....

Or emu sausage, crocodile kebab and fresh caught yabbies with tomato chutney!! the mahogany inn does a bushmans platter that features heaps of choice meats!!!

Anyone know the ploughmans lunch? Pretty typical Aussie outback lunch with a hot chunk of damper... Nice!! smile.gif

So true. I work in freo, and asked for an aussie burger, and this chick looked at me blankly (must be new). I could see her brain go "dah whats an aussie burger".

As for no such thing as aussie cuisine, what about bush potatos and witchetty grubs? I found that witchetty grub in a paste form is a great hang over food.

They will prolly bring it back for Australia Day specials in a cunning marketing ploy.
