Its a lovely tank.  I wish I had the kind of money you are wanting.  If you reduce it please let me know.  I am currently saving but only have just started selling stuff to buy one so it will probably be a few weeks at least until I get enough money from my current set ups to buy something like yours

Thanks Chen. Angels are probably the way I'll go

#298563 Spped Up For Another Tank

Thanks for the advice. Here's what I've done. I turned filter on with just 15 litres of existing tank water in around 23 Oct. On 25 October I filled the rest of the tank with tap water and conditioner.

I plan to do:
On the 1st Oct I will add a couple of platty fry.
Wait a few days then add a couple more and so on until all my platty fry are doing well in the new tank. Then I'm gonna buy a bronze corydora or albino and put him in fry tank for quaranteen. Once his week of quarantine is up he will go in with my exiating bronze corydora. Another week later and the adult plattys will be added, another week and any remaining platty babies from my big tank will be added. I will then buy a swordtail female and quarantine her before adding to my exiating tank. Then lastly I will move 4 neons over to have 4 in each.

Then it all starts again with cycling my bigger newer tank. At least for that I'll have 3 tanks to take water and filter media from. The new tank needs filter media that can be stolen from my HOB filters so maybe I can get fish after just one week.

This week I must set up my old (3month old) 20 litre tank and get that cycled so I have baby tank/quarantine tanks or whatever ready to use for emergancy or to quarantine fish for big tank.

#298379 Fry Food

I have used the following tip. I read about this online somewhere. Basically you hard boil an egg and take out the yolk. Mash and mix with a small amount of water. Then freeze. Once frozen put the egg into a bag and bash it to make like a granita. This is great for small fry not large enough to eat crushed up fish foods.

To use take a small amount of tank water add a couple of granules of egg until dissolved.

Then add it to the tank.

What I love about this is that having high protein it makes fry grow quickly so you can get them onto crushed up fish food quickly.

Also my adult fish love it as a treat. It is not good as the only food but could be incorporated into a balanced diet.

Even my bristlenose fry went for it, before they had even finished their own egg yolk. It just buys me enough time to work out what to feed each different breed of babies.

I also crush up adult fish food by putting in small food container and using a spoon to stir it. If you push the spoon round the edge of the container it breaks up well. Much better than breaking bits off by hand. I also keep my small pot with fry food (cheap mixed granule type food, crushed flakes and crushed expensive colour enhancing granules) and my larger pot with un crushed food for the bigger fish. I usually add both at the same time. The big fish tend to ignore the smaller bits and the larger fry or smaller fish can eat without waiting for the big fish to break it down for them.

It would be good if you can get it to work. Good luck. The other thing you could do is put little holes in with more weight all the way along the branches, silicon them in then repaint and reseal
