Scientific Name: Aulonocara koningsi
Pronunciation: A-loo-no-car-a cone-ings-i
Trade Name(s): Konings Peacock
Distribution: Mbenji Island
Habitat: Rocky areas with sand.
Diet: Snails & other Invertebrates
Sexing: Males are stunning. In breeding dress they are bright blue with a lime/yellow under body and a spectacular tail with beautiful yellow 'veins'.
Females have a silver body with brown barring.
Maximum Size: 14/15cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Available in Oz. They make for a beautiful display fish and are one of my favorite Peacocks. I have kept and bred this species, the males in breeding dress are certainly a sight to see.
