Scientific Name: Lichnochromis acuticeps
Pronunciation: Lick-no-chro-mis a-cuti-ceps
Trade Name(s): Malawi Gar, Acuticeps
Distribution: Lake Wide distribution.
Habitat: Sandy areas with small rocks.
Diet: Insect larvae & small Mbuna.
Sexing: Males are blue & yellow in breeding dress.
Females are silver with the juvenile black bar that runs from the top of the head diagonal along the upper body to the tail.
Maximum Size: 30cm
Temperature: 24 to 26c
pH: 7.5 to 9.0
Water Hardness: 300-400ppm
Availability: Rare In Oz
Comments: A stunning & odd looking cichlid. Not overly aggressive for a large Hap.
