Hello Hope someone can help me here :) I have a ranchu gold fish that I have had for around 2 years. He hasn't really gotten any bigger during that time and more recently even started to lose weight :( I have read somewhere it may be worms or something? But I'm not really sure what to use or do. He still eating normally, kept in a pond with other goldfish, I do 80% water change every 1-1.5 weeks. Amm 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrates <20-40 PH pretty stable at 7.8 Any suggestions?

I would first suggest to put him in a tank and feed him. Then observe what his waste looks like, as if he is fine and just needs a bit more feeding it should be like a brown colour, but if he has parasites or worms the waste will be clear or white.HTH :)

Oh ok
Hmm a few weeks ago I did take him out and QT.
His poop seemed ok but hard to tell since they eat their own poop regularly lol I may have seen stringy white poo once or twice in the pond.

Darian over at Living Ponds is a Goldfish guru... Might be worth talking to him.

If its worms, treating one fish in qt wont help much you need to treat all fish in qt or in their pond. If treating in qt (saves money), keep their pond empty of hosts for a couple of weeks. Treating in the pond is great but probably expensive depending on litres.
