Pretty sure this is an overseas vendor , just because they can send it doesn't mean you will ever receive it

old story if it appears to be too good to be true.... then it isnt.... my reply is get a quote and tell them you will come and pick the fish up in person and only then will you pay for it...  im guessing you wont get a reply... or if you do they'll try convince you otherwise... but never send money to something like this...

saw this ad myself, sounds very fishy indeed. for a start you would not want to promote them as having cites + chips as this would confrim that they are from overseas, therefore smuggled. This would eliminate any defense you might have if AQUIS decides to pay you a call (forget fisheries, these guys are the real concern as they will charge you). Sure, there is no law against keeping these, but to have a confirmed smuggled animal is a different kettle of fish entirely.

I would imagine that this is already being investigated as we all know fisheries & co are definitley trawling through gumtree, the shrimp issues are proof of this.

 My advice, steer well clear.

Yeah I thought as much. I emailed them just to see what they come back with. But thats as far as I am going with that, I'll stick with my jardini!

Suggest as it appears to be a Scam, it is worth reporting to Department of Commerce (WA).

Phone: 1300 304 054                                Email: Scamquery@commerce.wa.gov.au

Commerce deal with scams every day of the week.

Which I've just done.

Maybe Zabick you can also report it to Gumtree admin?

Cheers

James

This has been out there for awhile (im talking 18 months).

I have spoke with the person on the other end and its all crap. They were willing to ship fish and pay later etc, but never did when i became serious to them.

Wouldnt even bother reporting it. As id imagine nothing would really happen and if it did, they could probably set up another account just as easy.
