i have been using these egg tumblers for a while now with great success. i have had 0 casualties so far and all the fish have turned out healthy and undeformed.
its a very simple method of making them which cost me $11.50
Things you need:
1x airstone $1
1x Undergravel filter airlift (sold at malaga aquariums for $10)
1x air pump ($10-20)
tubing to connect air pump and air stone ($1-4 p/m)
some mesh
2x lacky band
1x hacksaw or saw of some type
somethign to hold the tumbler to the glass(i used suction cups)
Step 1.
get one part of the airlift and cut in half using a hacksaw
Step 2.
put the divider that hold the two parts together on one end
Step 3.
put the mesh over this hole and put the other cut half of the airlift into this hole. (you will need some force)
Step 4.
put some more mesh over the top to stop the eggs getting out and fish getting in.
step 5.
connect the air stone with the tubing to the air pump and place the airstone into the bottom of the tubing.
step 6.
turn on the air pump and adjust the amount of bubbles you want going through by twisting the knob on the air pump if you have one.(if you dont you can buy a 2 way splitter which lets you adjust the flow rate)
step 7.
take off the mesh at the top and put your eggs inside. put the lid back on and your away.
Fisnished product:
sorry about the pic quality. havnt cleaned the tank for a while.
hope this helps everyone
thanks ben
