Help. Internal Filter Or Canister?

I have a 4 x 2.5 x 2ft tank. I need a need filter cos the one I got atm cant keep up with 19 cichlids. What should I get? And I have a budget too

id go with canister, u can get ones for under $100 that are enough for a 4ft. in my opinion, internal just takes up too much space but obviously has its pros, e.g easier to clean

Depends what your budget is and what sort of outcome you want. If it were me id be going for an Eheim 2180 thermofilter. More than sufficient for that sized tank and has a 500W heater built into the head.

Aquotix were selling the Astro 2202 for 80 couple weeks ago awesome little canister filter I bought one and personally think it's the ducks nuts

But for that size tank I'd go the next size up or have two smaller ones

Canisters for that size tank under $100 are rubbish...

You could grab a tub and some good filter media (zeolite, sponge, Dacron, ceramic) and make yourself a good top filter, then you only need a small pump to move water to the filter, you could make something simple for under 100 no probs :)!

Powerhead on a sponge. 30 bucks... best filters ive ever used. Super quiet and efficient.
