Hey guys,

Set this bad boy up on Saturday evening. Sorry about picture quality (taken on phone) - will have to get some better ones later.

Tank is 4ft x 1.5 ft x 2 ft (330L approx.)

Substrate is ADA New Amazonia - 4.5 x 9L bags of regular, 0.5 x 9L bag of powder

2 x Eheim 2215 filters (1 filter hooked up to UPS which will run for approx. 10 hours on battery).

PondOne 9w UV steriliser

Dupla CO2 atomiser & Canister (Cheers Terry)

Tunze CO2 Controller/Monitor

Seneye Home Monitoring System

TC Teco heater/chiller

Kameor 3 Channel Dosing Pump - yet to be installed

Can't remember what lights - will have to check

Rocks & Wood from Seaview - cheers Mike and Greg for all my annoying questions

Plants from Aquotix - cheers Chris (Saj) for the help - plants are mostly native (got a bit hard finding only natives so I caved in a little)

Plumbing supplies from Aquotix - cheers Ollie (Mr_Docfish) for the hour long tutorial smile.gif

Planning on getting rainbowfish and river prawns.

Keeping temperature at 27-28 degrees C until livestock added. pH is 6.6-6.8. Dosing is currently set for 6.8 but likely to drop that to 6.5 pending further research (any help here appreciated).

Water changes are easy - just plug in hose and pump water out. When filling, water bypasses filters.

Primary filter pumps water through 1. UV 2. Atomiser 3. Chiller/heater. Filter media ceramic noodles, Seachem Matrix, Eheim white and blue pads, and Seachem Purigen.

Secondary filter (rigged up to UPS) has no equipment hooked up. Filter media ceramic noodles, Seachem Matrix, Eheim white and blue pads, and carbon.

It's a bit cloudy from planting and the substrate. Hopefully it clears up smile.gif

Any suggestions to changes, fish etc welcome smile.gif

That's some fancy pipe work you have there. Looking good.
Question? Didn't you buy the canisters new ? If so why are you using Seachem Matrix?
Cheers.

Very nice set up. I just would have started with a bigger glass box for all that pretty plumbing.

New pics after planting some more plants.

Glosso got covered in algae and then died sad.gif

Water is a bit murky from water change and planting.

I've noticed the vallis grows quite quickly and tangles up easily :-S

Looking nice!!

I used to have a 4ft many years ago full of Amazon Swords and Anubis growing out the top. It was great but lost interest after I started keeping fish that weren't compatible with plants.

Post some more pics when it's settled down and things have grown/filled out

Thanks mate, will do.

Already had some issues - i.e. plants dying, algae, snails etc so I'm hoping it turns out being worth it lol

I've noticed there are a lot of empty snails shells and practically zero live snails (I had heaps!) since introducing the empire gudgeons... I think they may be responsible for this genocide.
