I think they've stopped tongue.gif
Over 250 eggs.
Maybe I should keep them all, tank with 300+ orange lasers, would be a sight to see indeed tongue.gif

They are orange lasers tongue.gif
They were spawning for half the day smile.gif
shocking photo but you can see the number of eggs,
majority of eggs are shown with about 60 more on the leaves of java fern and 30 underneath the internal filter.

Orange Laser female is cleaning surfaces and being pursued by the males,
Pre-spawn behaviour, most likely brought on by the incoming rain.
May end up with eggs tonight. smile.gif

I do but I've moved the fry to a larger container with opaque sides so they are all birds eye view.

They sure aren't the specks they were when they hatched, but I feel it's a long long time before they start looking like corys, a month or two at least.

Nah no heating, perhaps maybe for the warmer water cories such as gossei or sterbai but even then I doubt the fry would require it.
So yeah, when I said the cories were going to spawn I was right tongue.gif
I can see 8 eggs on a crypt leaf, perhaps some more sitting around.

My Major spawn should hatch tonight or tomorrow.

Edit: make that 45 eggs. lol

I wonder if they'll ever stop?

Not sure, don't keep cichlids but I'm guessing you would, not sure the rift lakes are subject to the cold temperatures the wet season brings to the amazon.

Not really, very confused atm, have had heavy losses, still have around 60-80 but that's from well into the 120's.
They seem to contract a fungal infection, have added anti-fungals.
I will experiment with keeping some in a breeder's net in one of my cory tanks to see if that helps.

I'm hoping my corys spawn over the next few days due to the rain, have performed a short 1 week dry period, performed a 60% water change today and dropped the temp from 25 to 22.5.
'
There are a few that are starting to look quit cory like, give em a few weeks and I'll have cory looking fish tongue.gif

Kuhni,

Have just read recently from a new cory book from the PCS library (Corydoras the most popular armoured catfishes of South America by Werner Seub) that cory`s are prone to fungal infections in bare bottom tanks and you must dilligently clean the bottom ( every few days ) and not keep them in a bare bottom tank for a prolonged period.

I would also use one of those magnet glass cleaners along the bottom to help keep it clean too.

Let me know how you go.

Cheers

Still have 60+ fry, but I'm very pleased to say, that they have spawned again. 150ish eggs.
This time i will attempt to raise them in the breeding tank in a net or trap, having trouble sourcing a breeder's net, may just make my own abomination of a breeder net tongue.gif

Also interesting to note that I believe my Habrosus spawned as well, only a few eggs but they seem to be about 1/6th the size of the orange lasers eggs.
