They look pretty intense lights! Would love to see PAR readings.

I would be interested to know too, but I don't have anything to measure it with

The PH and KH requirements of the fish are different. Tetra's require parameters around 22-27 degree water (temperature) KH 4-8 (Carbonate hardness) and PH 6.6-7 (how acidic/basic the water is).
Whereas electric yellow cichlids require 22-28 degree water, KH 10-15 and PH 7.8 to 8.5
If you need some help creating suitable conditions feel free to PM me, create a post here or head down to your local fish shop

I was having issues with low KH and PH levels and I am currently raising it with AquaREALm KH-Genk.
I plan to get the plants pearling before I start buying new plants and fish.

odd question but are the freshwater mussels suitable for eating?
I tried them once, caught out of a river in/near serpentine which was relatively fast flowing. They tasted terrible at best!
NEVER AGAIN..... haha

Update:
In the process of shutting down my old 4ft tank.
Added the last of the plants out of my 4ft.
I have added dwarf chain swords on the left and a plant which I think is dwarf saj on the right.

Simple but effective. Nice tank. I've got a soft spot for dolphins, nice fish with great personality. Would look flash as Michael Jackson with an external filter hidden away!
Its on the list!
Right after buying more fish for the 6X2X2 = D ha ha
