Was wondering if there are any good tree types to get driftwood from (or ones to be avoided totally)?
I've tried a couple of dried hardwood (gum tree?) ones. Some ok, some got fungus.

Fungus happens. It goes away. Clean it off as it appears and after a while it will clear up.

Or get those mystery snails from a LFS. They love the fungus from driftwood.

Many thanks.
So it sounds like hardwood or vine wood (nothing with a scent) should generally be fine? Looking to get some 4ft pieces at some point.
I have tried rosemary bush but that gave molly fry troubles.
