I used to have a out door pond it was pretty cool to have in the backyard, never had any one come over that wasnt impressed. It really is an amazing thing to have a huge pond in the back yard.
The only thing I cant stress enough is think about how you will be cleaning your filter. The bio filter with uv sterilization lights and with a settlement chamber worked very well with 2m deep of crystal clear water filtering 2 large ponds and breeding tanks. Just cleaning it was a half to whole day job once every month to 2 or 3 months depending on if it was summer or winter.

Go the Showa and sanke for me, when i spawn i pick 2/m 1/f the more sperm in the water is great, makes a mess but works and gets me excitted,
im holding off till mid Nov this year till i get a good week above 25 degrees, last year alot of peopled spawned to early and lost the whole lot.
