Ok so we have this massive pond things 10x5meters and me and a mate had an idea to do a mini river or mangrove or even an out door reef as its fully enclosed. Does any one have any cool ideas to try or know of any one who has had success at out door salt systems

I have thought about it but the problems I keep coming back to are:

- Water supply - evap and water changes etc.

- Temperature stability - This would still be an issue for you with such a huge volume of water.

- Incredibly difficult to control pests if going with a reef option

- Cost is pretty daunting too, even if you do everything on the cheap/dodgy. Then again, might not be an issue for you.

Holmsy had a big arse kiddy pool reef set up in a shed or garage looked awesome... There are photos in the marine section.

I had a out door above ground marine pool loved it but only prob I had was the power bill with the heater on going. But if you could build around it trap some heat it's awesome thing to do.

I'm not 100% sure if this pond will suit it as it has that black plastic lines stuff and I'm worried that It will break down to fast only looking at running it for a year or 2 with 2 rays and some small sharks
